We have implemented some additional criteria for fonts to be included in marketing email newsletters that are sent to our customers based on extensive market research, A/B testing, and the results of real-world marketing campaigns.
- Fonts included in standard marketing emails can have a maximum discount of 60% off.
- Fonts included in special marketing events (i.e. Fontacular, 12 Days of Type, etc) can have a maximum discount of 65% off.
- Fonts that have a discount which results in a family package price less than $9 after the discount will not be eligible for inclusion in marketing email newsletters.
The intent behind this criteria is to reduce the downward pressure on pricing that has been caused by promotions. This effort will make it easier for us to provide guidance for optimizing pricing in the future. Our analysis has shown that the deeper discounts are resulting in leaving a lot of dollars on the table.
We don’t recommend creating discounts greater than these values, however you may still do so, but please know your fonts will not be eligible for inclusion in our marketing email newsletters.
This policy went into effect January 1, 2021.
Please keep in mind the 45 day rule. Once a discount ends, prices cannot be changed for an additional 45 days. Once your font prices have been changed, you must wait 45 days before discounting the fonts.
