Foundry Platform uses email verification and two-factor authentication to help protect your account and ensure secure access to important actions.

This guide explains how to verify your email, what happens if it is not verified, and when you will be asked to complete a verification step.

Verify your email

Each user must have a verified email address linked to their Foundry Platform account.

Verifying your email confirms your identity and ensures you can securely access your account and receive important communications.

How to verify your email

1. Sign in to Foundry Platform with your email address and password
2. If your email is not yet verified, you will see a prompt to verify it
3. Check your inbox for a verification email
4. Select the link in the email to confirm your address
5. Return to the Foundry Platform and continue using your account

You may continue to receive reminders until your email has been verified.

Access while verification is pending

You can continue to use Foundry Platform while your email verification is pending.

If verification is not completed within the timeframe shown in the platform, access to certain areas may be temporarily limited until your email is verified.

This may include areas such as dashboard, earnings, and payments.

Verification for sensitive actions

Two-factor authentication is used to add an extra layer of security when performing certain actions.

Instead of being required at every login, two-factor authentication is used when additional verification is needed, particularly for payment-related actions.

When verification is required

You may be asked to verify your identity when:

• Accessing or updating payment details
• Initiating or managing payments
• Completing other actions that require additional account security

How the verification step works

1. Start a task that requires additional verification, such as updating payment details or managing payments
2. You will be prompted to complete a verification step
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to approve the request or enter the verification code
4. Once verified, you can continue with your action

Keep your account up to date

To ensure uninterrupted access:

• Keep your email address up to date and accessible
• Complete email verification when prompted
• Follow verification steps when performing sensitive actions

These steps help keep your account secure while allowing you to move through everyday tasks more easily.

• Why do I need to verify my email

• What happens if I do not verify my email

  Access to some areas of the platform may be temporarily limited until your email is verified.

• What if I encounter an issue while already logged in?

  If you encounter an issue while already logged in, please log out and sign back in before raising a support ticket.

• What if I cannot access my email inbox

  You will need access to your email to complete verification. If you are unable to access it, please contact Foundry Support.

We know writing strong, policy-compliant descriptions takes time. That’s why we built an AI helper directly into your description fields. It gives real-time suggestions to improve grammar, tone, and discoverability. This helps you publish faster and stay focused on design.

Where to find it 

The assistant is built into your platform account. Open any supported description field, such as a family, bundle, foundry, or designer bio. The AI tools are always visible but remain inactive until your text reaches at least 350 characters. There are no extra tools or steps needed.

To activate the assistant, your content must also be written primarily in English. At least 80 percent of the description should be in English so the assistant can provide accurate suggestions that support our global customer base.

What it can do

• Boost visibility helps your fonts get found more often. It improves keyword placement, structure, and clarity so your listing performs better on MyFonts, search engines, and even AI tools.
• Polish writing makes your copy smoother and easier to read. It fine-tunes phrasing and tone while keeping your original message intact.
• Fix grammar corrects typos, punctuation, and awkward wording without over-editing. It improves quality while preserving your unique style.
• Shorten text trims long or repetitive content while keeping your core message strong.
• When you use a tool, a split view appears. Your original text is on the left, and the AI suggestion is on the right. You can choose to accept or discard the changes. Nothing will update unless you approve it.
• You can also rate each suggestion with a thumbs-up 👍 or down 👎. Your feedback helps improve future results. 

How safeguards help you

We built in checks to keep your descriptions accurate, consistent, and ready to publish. These checks run whether or not you use the AI assistant.

For example, if you paste a phone number or include pricing like "$29.99," we’ll show an error so you can fix it quickly. This helps avoid delays during review.

To protect your content and support customer trust, we block:

• Pricing, which can become outdated
• Personal contact details like emails or phone numbers, which are not allowed in descriptions
• Font file types like OTF or TTF, because the format information is already provided on the platform
• External links, unless they point to MyFonts or Monotype

These rules help ensure your listing stays current and focused on the font itself.

Monthly usage and performance tips

Each foundry can use the assistant up to 25 times per month. One use is counted every time you click an AI tool, even if you do not accept the suggestion. If you reach the monthly limit, the assistant will pause until your quota resets. You can still write and edit manually, and all quality checks will continue to run. 

Tips for writing better descriptions

The assistant works best when you start with a solid first draft.

• Begin with a clear intro like:
  “Moonshade is a modern display serif with subtle vintage curves.”
• Mention features or inspiration:
  “Inspired by ‘70s logos, this font includes 12 styles with soft, rounded shapes.”
• Suggest use cases:
  “Great for logos, album covers, and lifestyle branding.”

You are always in control

The AI assistant is optional. You choose when to use it, what to accept, and how to edit. Suggestions are never applied automatically. Your final content is always up to you. 

Common questions

Do I have to use the assistant?
No. You can write and submit everything manually. 

Why can’t I include pricing?
Prices change by region and offer. We display accurate local pricing automatically.

What if I paste a phone number?
We’ll flag it right away so you can remove or replace it before submission.

Why does my text need to be in English?
The assistant requires your text to be mostly in English so it can provide accurate suggestions that support our global customer base. Aim for at least 80 percent of your content to be in English.

What happens after I reach the monthly limit?
The assistant pauses until the next month. You can still write manually and benefit from platform checks.

Managing controls for your foundry is easier than ever. With the new user management feature, you, as a Foundry Owner, can decide which of your team members, freelancers, or employees can access specific modules within the Foundry Platform.

How it works

Maintaining security in your foundry operations while providing your team with necessary access can be challenging. Our user management feature gives you the ability to assign roles, manage permissions, and maintain oversight over your foundry’s operations effortlessly.

Steps/Solution:

Accessing User Management

To get started, navigate to the User Management section in your profile. Both Foundry Admins and users with access to the “User Management” section can use this feature.

Changing and Checking User Permissions

In the Manage Users section, you’ll find a list of users with their names and email IDs. Clicking on a user will reveal a dropdown menu showing the modules they have access to.

To modify permissions, simply check or uncheck the relevant options. Available options include:

Foundry Admin
User Management
Foundry Profile
Submissions
Promotion
Earning Reports
Payments
Agreements
Bundles

Saving Changes

After making your selections, don’t forget to click the “Save Changes” button to confirm your updates. If you need to remove a user entirely, click the adjacent trash bin icon.

 

Adding New Users

You can also add new users to your foundry by searching for their full email ID. Ensure that the user is registered on the Foundry Platform before adding them.

 

How to set up a new Foundry Partner account:

• Visit Monotype's account sign-up page.

• Sign up using the new Email address you want to add

• Choose a password

• Enter the full name associated with the Email

• Check the inbox for a verification Email and follow the link to verify the account.

• Once verified, The new user email address will be available in the user management search.

How do I access the User Management section on the Foundry Platform?

To access the User Management section, navigate to your profile on the Foundry Platform. Both Foundry Admins and users with the “User Management” permission can manage users and their access to various modules within the Foundry.

Can I change a user’s permissions after they’ve been added to the Foundry Platform?

Yes, you can easily change a user’s permissions. Simply go to the Manage Users section, click on the user’s name, and adjust the permissions by checking or unchecking the modules they should have access to. Don’t forget to click “Save Changes” to confirm your updates.

What should I do if I need to add a new user to my foundry?

To add a new user, make sure they are registered on the Foundry Platform. Once registered, search for their complete email ID in the User Management section, and then you can assign them the appropriate roles and permissions.

Why am I getting error 403?

This error means that the user does not have the required permissions, please proceed to assign the respective permissions accordingly.

The Foundry Health Meter is a module on your foundry home page dashboard.  The Health Meter lists key to-do items we recommend to ensure your foundry is merchandised successfully to reach customers effectively in our platforms. 

By actively completing the milestones, you can improve the way your foundry and fonts are presented on our platforms, including being shown higher in the search results. Based on our research, we know fonts and foundries that are fully merchandised and have the latest licensing models resonate more with customers. The Foundry Health Meter is a handy tool to help you ensure you’re doing the key things to reach customers in the best way possible. 

How It Works

It’s super simple—just complete the suggested checklist to turn your health meter green! Once you complete the suggested step, your health will improve, and that section on the list will be updated within one hour.

What happens once I’ve completed everything on the checklist? 

Awesome! You are doing great. Once all milestones are 100% complete, it will automatically collapse and stay hidden until new milestones are set. Occasionally, we’ll add additional items to contribute to your foundry health. When we do, we’ll let you know in an email newsletter, in-platform message, and/or webinar. Check back in regularly to make sure you’re still up to date! 

How do I know once I’ve completed an item and improved my foundry health score?

The check box in the list will turn green, and your health meter will show signs of improvement.

How long does it take for my health meter to improve once I’ve completed an item on the checklist? 

Once the information is updated, it will take up to an hour to reflect on our website.

What does the Health Meter actually do?

The foundry health meter directly controls a score that influences how your fonts are prioritized in search results and in other areas of our platforms. We want to show fonts to customers that we believe will resonate more with them, and our research shows that foundries who fully merchandise their brand presence is a better experience for customers. 

Why did we create the Foundry Health Meter?

We heard loud and clear from our partners that they’d like more recommendations and guidance for how to improve their presence on our platforms. We also know that fonts from foundries that are merchandised more completely sell better. Therefore, we’ve created this module to ensure we’re helping our partners grow. We want to incentivize you to improve your brand and reward those who do so!

 
What happens if I remove information from my profile that’s in the Health Meter? 

If you delete existing content on your Foundry info page and your completion score decreases, you will receive a notification regarding this change, and your foundry’s health will decline, resulting in reduced visibility for your fonts.

You can manage and update your foundry information through the Profile section in Foundry Platform. The details you add here help customers understand your brand and ensure that your foundry is represented accurately across our platforms.

What You Can Update

Foundry Location

Add your Country and City/State so customers know where your foundry is based.

Short Foundry Description

Provide a brief overview of your foundry in English. This can include your mission, goals, and a short introduction to your brand for potential customers.

Long Foundry Description

Share a more detailed description of your foundry. This should include key facts and background information. Since this text is publicly visible, keep it clear, concise, and professional. 
The long description must be at least 350 characters.

Foundry Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

This optional field lets you indicate whether your foundry is women owned, BIPOC owned, or LGBTQ+ owned.

Foundry Contract Information

Add the full details associated with your foundry contract, including:

• Full name
• Email address
• Primary contact number
• Website
• Zip code and full address

Important Notes

Editing your information within the Profile tab does not change any content displayed on a Premium Foundry Page. If you need information about Premium Foundry Pages, please see this guide.

Overview

Upload a foundry banner image to your Foundry Profile. Image will be displayed on MyFonts and Monotype Fonts.

In the Foundry Platform:

1. Go to Profile > Foundry Info
2. Click Edit foundry banner.
3. Upload image formatted to specifications below.
4. Move crop frame to desired position.
5. Click Set image.
6. Click Save changes.

• Banner image will be cropped and resized to fit different platforms and screen sizes.

If you need to make changes to your designer page, our team is happy to help. Since designer pages cannot yet be edited directly in the Foundry Platform, you can request updates by contacting us.

How to request edits

Send an email to foundrysupport@monotype.com with the details you would like updated. Please include clear information so we can make the changes accurately and quickly.

Future updates

We are working on a tool in the Foundry Platform that will allow you to manage and update your designer page on your own. Once available, you will be able to make edits directly without needing to contact support.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us anytime.

We generally recommend keeping your existing foundry name. Changing it can be confusing for customers, especially those who already know your brand or have purchased your fonts.

If you still need to change your foundry name, you have two options.

Option 1: Change the Displayed Foundry Name

This is the simplest and most recommended option.

We update the name that appears across MyFonts, while the original URLs remain unchanged. The update reflects everywhere your foundry is shown on the site, and customers can continue to find your fonts easily.

Option 2: Create a New Foundry

You can create a second foundry under a new name. This option requires signing a new distribution agreement for the new foundry.

If you choose this path, be thoughtful about how the new brand fits into your catalog. The second foundry should have a clear purpose and identity so customers understand why it exists.

For example, if you released a font named Quagmire and want to publish Quagmire Pro, both should stay under the same foundry. Splitting related fonts across different foundries would create unnecessary confusion for customers

Note: Licensors (designers who have licensed fonts to one of the Monotype-owned foundry brands, sometimes referred to as libraries) as yet cannot log in to the Foundry Platform. However, we are working on it!

Foundry Account Email

If you'd like to change your email address associated with your foundry account, please email us and we will be able to do this for you. Soon you will be able to update this yourself in the User Profile section of Foundry Platform.

Payment Email

To update the email address where you receive information about your payments, please update your email address in Foundry Platform in the Payments section.

Primary Contact Email

To update the primary email address you'd like us to communicate with you about your foundry, please log in to Foundry Platform and edit your Primary Contact in the Foundry Profile section.
