We're introducing AI-suggested tags to help you add metadata to your font families more quickly and consistently.
When you upload or edit a font family, the Foundry Platform can now automatically suggest tags based on the characteristics of your fonts. These suggestions are designed to reflect the terms customers use when searching for fonts across MyFonts and Monotype Fonts.
What's new
AI-suggested tags provide a helpful starting point for building your font family's metadata. You remain in control of the final tag list and can:
- Keep suggested tags that accurately describe your font family
- Remove suggestions that aren't relevant
- Add your own tags to provide additional context
Together, AI-suggested tags and manually added tags help improve discoverability while making the tagging process faster and more consistent.
What to expect
AI-generated suggestions are unique to each font family.
The system can suggest up to 20 tags, but the number of suggestions may vary depending on the information available for your font family and the AI's confidence in identifying meaningful, relevant tags. Receiving fewer than 20 suggestions is expected and does not indicate a problem.
All AI-suggested and manually added tags count toward the same 20-tag limit for each font family.
Why this matters
Well-crafted tags help customers discover your fonts more easily by:
- Improving search visibility across MyFonts and Monotype Fonts
- Supporting more accurate search results and filtering
- Strengthening metadata used for search engine optimization (SEO)
AI-suggested tags help you get started faster, while your expertise ensures the final tag list accurately represents your work.
