Our Foundry Platform brings all the core tools into one place so you can manage your catalog, update your families, track submissions, and run your business confidently with Monotype. This page gives you a quick look at what’s available and where to go next.

Note: Licensors (designers who have licensed fonts to one of the Monotype-owned foundry brands, sometimes referred to as libraries) as yet cannot log in to the Foundry Platform. However, we are working on it!

Foundry Platform is the self-service platform where you can manage your fonts and foundry. We’re regularly adding additional tools and features.

If you're having issues with MyFonts or Foundry Platform, please complete this form to create a bug report. It's always a good idea to clear your cache or cookies to rule this out as the problem before submitting this form.

If you are having issues with more than one font family, please submit this form multiple times: one bug report per font family. This will help expedite fixing the families. Bugs will be fixed in the order they are received, so please prioritize your issues and submit the most important ones first.

How It Works

The Notification Center serves as your in-app hub for real-time updates and feedback. Positioned between the “Foundry Help Center” and your profile icon, the bell icon provides immediate notifications. You will be alerted of any updates directly within the platform, with the option to review them through the Platform or via email later.

One single agreement, all of Monotype.

A lot has changed in the type industry over the past few years. Today there are more font customers, more foundries, and more ways to sell fonts than ever before. But all this complexity can make it difficult to connect with customers and grow your business. Our distribution agreement makes things simple, matches the way fonts are sold today, and enables foundries to license fonts at scale.

Foundry Program.

By signing this agreement, you're part of the foundry program. This means you get full access to the foundry platform, with all the new business analytics, marketing, and foundry branding features as soon as they're available, and have increased visibility on our sites. Additionally, you'll be able to qualify to be on the foundry advisory board and other programs like this that we will be rolling out. Learn more about the benefits of the foundry program.

Monotype Fonts.

By signing this agreement, your fonts are included in Monotype Fonts. Monotype Fonts (formerly called Mosaic) is our platform for font discovery and licensing for agencies and enterprise customers. We’ve reinvented the customer experience to solve the most frustrating aspects of shopping for fonts and to reduce the confusion and complexity of font licensing. Monotype Fonts enables designers to design and prototype with a broad selection of fonts.

We are celebrating the addition of new fonts and foundries in Monotype Fonts to customers and users in the Monotype Fonts platform, in social media campaigns, in emails to Monotype Fonts users, and at upcoming design events.

E-commerce reach.

Our agreement allows your fonts to be sold on our e-commerce channel, MyFonts. By leveraging the enhanced foundry platform features to promote and market your foundry, you'll reach a wide range of potential customers. 

Enterprise sales.

This agreement allows our global sales teams to sell your fonts to enterprise clients. Our sales teams have developed strong relationships over many years with companies around the world and across virtually every industry. With this agreement, they’ll be able to offer your fonts to these clients too. These orders are more time consuming and thus fewer in number than e-commerce orders, but they are far more lucrative. 

Licensing enforcement.

This agreement allows us to enforce your IP rights with clients who may have been under-licensed in the past. Our research, sales, and legal teams are experts at working with brands to address past misuse. They are adept at transforming what could be uncomfortable, even contentious situations into long-lasting relationships, leading to font renewals and additional licensing in the future. Royalties.

Our simple royalty structure is designed to match how we do business today and provide clarity and certainty for foundries: 50% for your fonts sold on myfonts.com, and 25% for everything else. There are no additional costs. The 25% rate covers Monotype Fonts, orders sold by our enterprise sales teams, and any revenue from enforcement-related orders. These orders have a lower royalty rate because they are more complicated, expensive, and time consuming to conduct. 

Co-marketing.

Beyond the distribution of your fonts, this agreement opens up a range of co-marketing opportunities we can explore with you. As a foundry partner, you can take part in Monotype’s in-person and virtual events, co-create promotions and content, and leverage our social media channels to expand your audience. By advocating for the value of type design, Monotype, foundries, and end-user designers all benefit together. 

World-class support.

Monotype’s foundry support team has over 100 years of collective experience researching, merchandising, marketing, selling, designing, and studying fonts. They’re to help you grow your business with personalized guidance, research about font customers, and foundry management tools.

Additional components of the agreement.

Mutual NDA:
The new agreement includes a mutual NDA. This enables us to share a lot more with you, like roadmaps for Foundry Platform, MyFonts, and Monotype Fonts, and other business information about Monotype. Plus it’s mutual, which means you have confidence we can’t share your business information with others.  

Standard non-solicit:
We want to help you grow your business and are investing in education and tools to directly help you grow your earnings. We're in this together, so simply put, be a good partner and don't solicit any Monotype employees or other partners.

Release all your fonts with us:
Being in the program means that if you’re working with us, customers can find all of your fonts in our channels. We want customers to be able to purchase fonts wherever makes the most sense for them, and as we represent you as your partner, we need to be able to give customers the confidence that they’ll be able to browse all of your publicly available fonts in our ecosystem. 

Notify us if your business changes:
If your business is changing materially, let us know at least 90 days in advance. For example, if you intend to offer your fonts in a subscription offering, or if you intend to sell your foundry. This is for our awareness so we can be the best partner possible and appropriately plan for any additional work on our end to accommodate your upcoming business changes.

Font modifications:
You give us the right to modify your fonts according to our modifications policy – we need this for simple things like our sites automatically generating webfonts and occasionally modifications for customers. We follow a comprehensive modification policy, and we work directly with foundries when these situations arise. As always, you own any fonts that are modified.

Your agreement with Monotype determines how you access and use the Foundry Platform.

Whether your agreement is active, approaching its end date, or has already ended, this article explains what you can expect, what actions are available, and how you can continue or return to the Foundry Program.

Agreement status

Your foundry will be in one of the three agreement states.

Active

Your agreement is active, and you can continue using the Foundry Platform according to your assigned permissions.

Agreement ending soon

If your agreement has a scheduled termination date, you'll see a notification after signing in.

The notification includes:

• The number of days remaining before your agreement ends.
• Foundry Support contact information.
• A link for your Foundry Admin to review and sign our latest distribution agreement.

During this period, your agreement remains active, and you can continue using the platform according to your assigned role.

If you'd like to continue participating in the Foundry Program, your Foundry Admin can review and sign our latest distribution agreement before your current agreement expires. Signing before the termination date helps reduce disruption to your participation.

Agreement ended

Once your agreement reaches its termination date, your foundry moves into an inactive state.

Your account is not deleted.

Instead, your account and important information are preserved while access to certain platform features becomes limited. This allows you to understand your agreement status and provides a clear path to return to the Foundry Program whenever you're ready.

What happens after my agreement ends?

After your agreement ends:

• Your account remains available.
• Most management features become unavailable.
• Some information remains accessible depending on your role.
• Foundry Admins can begin the process of returning to the Foundry Program by signing our latest distribution agreement.

Access by user role

Foundry Admin

Foundry Admins can continue to access functions related to managing their foundry's relationship with Monotype.

Depending on your agreement status, you may be able to:

• View your agreement status.
• Contact Foundry Support.
• Review and sign our latest distribution agreement.
• View available earnings information.
• Manage payment information, where available.
• Begin the process of returning to the Foundry Program.

As your agreement status changes, some areas of the Foundry Platform become read-only or unavailable until a new agreement is in place.

Other foundry users

If you aren't a Foundry Admin, your experience is more limited.

• You can't sign agreements.
• You can't manage payment information.
• You can't begin the reactivation process.

If your agreement is ending soon or has already ended, you may see a message directing you to contact your Foundry Admin.

If you're unsure who your Foundry Admin is, please contact Foundry Support.

What happens to my fonts and inventory?

When your agreement ends, your font inventory is managed according to Monotype's post-termination inventory process.

While your foundry is inactive, you won't be able to:

• Add new font families.
• Upload new fonts.
• Edit existing font information.
• Update your inventory.
• Submit new content through the Foundry Platform.

If you decide to return to the Foundry Program, eligible font families can be reactivated after your Foundry Admin signs our latest distribution agreement and completes the reactivation process.

What happens to my payments and earnings?

If payments are still owed under the terms of your agreement, they'll continue to be processed according to your contractual terms.

Where payment management remains available, Foundry Admins can continue managing payment information to help ensure future payments are processed successfully.

Available earnings information may continue to be accessible based on your agreement status and account permissions.

If you have questions about payments or believe something is incorrect, please contact Foundry Support.

Signing a new agreement

Your agreements remain an important part of managing your relationship with Monotype.

Only a Foundry Admin can review and sign agreements on behalf of a foundry.

• If your agreement is ending soon, your Foundry Admin can review and sign our latest distribution agreement before your current agreement expires.
• If your agreement has already ended, your Foundry Admin can still sign our latest distribution agreement to begin returning to the Foundry Program.

Frequently asked questions

Will my account be deleted?

No.

Your account isn't immediately removed after your agreement ends. Instead, your foundry moves into an inactive experience that preserves your account while limiting access to platform features.

Can I still use the Foundry Platform?

Yes.

Your available features depend on both your assigned role and your agreement status.

Can I continue working with Monotype before my agreement ends?

Yes.

Your Foundry Admin can review and sign our latest distribution agreement before the termination date to help reduce disruption to your participation in the Foundry Program.

What happens to my fonts?

Your inventory is managed according to Monotype's post-termination inventory process.

While inactive, you won't be able to upload new fonts or update your existing inventory.

If you return to the Foundry Program, eligible font families can be reactivated.

Will I still receive royalty payments?

If royalty payments are still owed under your agreement, they'll continue to be processed according to your contractual terms.

Can I update my payment information?

Where payment management remains available, Foundry Admins can continue updating payment information.

If you're not a Foundry Admin, you'll need to contact your administrator.

Who can sign a new agreement?

Only a Foundry Admin can review and sign agreements on behalf of a foundry.

I'm not a Foundry Admin. What should I do?

Please contact your Foundry Admin if you have questions about your agreement or would like to continue or return to the Foundry Program.

If you don't know who your Foundry Admin is, contact Foundry Support.

Can I return later?

Yes.

When you're ready, your Foundry Admin can sign our latest distribution agreement and complete the reactivation process for eligible font families.

Who can sign a new agreement?

Only a Foundry Admin can review and sign a new agreement on behalf of a foundry.

Foundry Admins are responsible for:

• Reviewing and signing agreements.
• Managing the foundry's relationship with Monotype.
• Submitting requests to return to the Foundry Program.
• Reactivating eligible font families.

If you're not a Foundry Admin, please contact your administrator to begin this process.

If your agreement is ending soon

If your agreement has a scheduled termination date, you'll receive a notification in the Foundry Platform before it expires.

During this period, your Foundry Admin can review and sign our latest distribution agreement before your current agreement ends.

Signing before the termination date helps reduce disruption to your participation in the Foundry Program.

If no action is taken before your agreement expires, your foundry will move to an inactive experience. You can still return later by signing our latest distribution agreement.

If your agreement has already ended

You can return to the Foundry Program at any time.

Your access to the Foundry Platform remains limited until a Foundry Admin signs our latest distribution agreement.

After signing, the platform will guide you through reactivating eligible font families.

How to continue or return to the Foundry Program

Step 1: Review the agreement

Your Foundry Admin can access the Agreements section in the Foundry Platform and review our latest distribution agreement.

If you have questions before signing, please contact Foundry Support.

Step 2: Sign the agreement

Once you're ready, your Foundry Admin can sign the agreement directly within the Foundry Platform.

After signing, the platform will guide you through the next steps.

Step 3: Review eligible font families

If your foundry is returning after a period of inactivity, you'll be able to review any eligible font families available for reactivation.

Step 4: Select the font families to reactivate

You don't have to reactivate every eligible font family.

Your Foundry Admin can choose which families to include in the reactivation request.

Step 5: Submit your request

After selecting your font families, submit your reactivation request through the Foundry Platform.

You'll receive confirmation once your request has been submitted successfully.

Step 6: Reactivation

Your request will be processed through Monotype's standard quality assurance workflows.

Once processing is complete, your selected font families will become active under your new agreement.

Why return to the Foundry Program?

Returning to the Foundry Program allows your foundry to continue benefiting from:

• Distribution through MyFonts and Monotype Fonts.
• Access to the Foundry Platform.
• Pricing and marketing guidance.
• Licensing and commercialization support.

How long does reactivation take?

Processing times vary depending on operational requirements. Contact Foundry Support if you'd like a status update.

Can I edit my inventory before reactivation is complete?

No. Inventory management remains unavailable until the reactivation process has been completed.

Will all of my previous fonts automatically become available again?

Not necessarily. Your Foundry Admin will be able to review and select eligible font families for reactivation.

I signed the agreement. What's next?

The Foundry Platform will guide you through reviewing eligible font families and submitting your reactivation request.
