The Webfont license is for using fonts on a website. Webfont licenses are annual.
Webfonts can be used on a single domain. Agencies responsible for multiple websites, for example web design agencies or hosting providers, may not share a single webfont license across multiple websites.
Every time the webpage using the webfont kit is loaded (i.e, the webfont kit CSS which holds the @font-face rule is called) the counting system counts a single pageview for each webfont within the webfont kit.
Customers get a total number of prepaid pageviews that can be used over time. This means that they will pre-pay for a number of pageviews, then they'll have to come back to order more after your site has been viewed that number of times.
For example, if a customer orders 250,000 page views, when their webpages using the webfonts have been viewed 250,000 times, they will need to buy the webfont package again for an additional number of prepaid pageviews. Pageviews are valid for 1 year.
To use this EULA where you sell fonts, simply find and replace the word "Monotype" with your foundry name. View the Webfont EULA.
To calculate the prices for selling webfont licenses, use the table below. Multiply your base price by the multiplying factor to calculate the price for the number of users.
For example: $39 base price font for 1,000,000 pageviews per month is $39 x 20 = $780
|Annual Webfont License|
|Pageviews per month||Multiplying Factor|
|10,000 pageviews per month||1|
|25,000 pageviews per month||2.5|
|100,000 pageviews per month||5|
|250,000 pageviews per month||10|
|500,000 pageviews per month||15|
|1,000,000 pageviews per month||20|
|1,500,000 pageviews per month||25|
|2,000,000 pageviews per month||30|
